What is a data
feed / product feed?
A data feed (sometimes refferred to as a product feed) is
a large file crammed with lots of information about a merchants
products. Data feeds can contain anywhere from a handful of
products, to tens of thousands of products. In our case, the
MP3 Backing Trax data feed is filled with a list of our backing
tracks and other information which you will then use to build
your own backing track web pages.
What do I do
with the data feed and what are it's benefits?
Once you have downloaded and unzipped the MP3 Backing Trax data
feed, you can turn it's information into html pages that you
then upload to your website for your visitors to view and initiate
purchases from (you will receive commission on every sale generated
from backing tracks purchased from your website). The data feed
should be used to enhance your already existing webite by offering
your visitors the choice of thousands of products (backing tracks)
in addition to the existing things your website currently promotes.
For best results, your website should ideally be music related
because these are the types of visitors who will be interested
in buying backing tracks. With the data feed, you can display
the backing tracks on your website in any way you want, it's
entirely up to you - make it blend in with the colours, style
and design of your website. Here's an example - say you have
a website specifically targeted to singers which gives help
and advice about vocal techniques, breathing exercises and how
to take care of your voice etc. This would be an ideal type
of website to add downloadable backing tracks to. The singers
who visit your site can purchase backing tracks to use for singing
practice.
Can I see some
examples of what can be done with the data feed?
Yes, of course you can!
Have a look at our sister site (Sensational
Artists) which now lists backing tracks.
How do I build web pages
using the data in the data feed ?
You can make the affiliate web pages in exactly the same way
as you have produced the other pages in your website (ie by
using your favourite web building program such as FrontPage
or Dreamweaver etc). Make your website really stand out and
be of value to your sites visitors. You may want to include
other things like reviews of each backing track, descriptions,
information about the original artist etc.
What fields does
the MP3 Backing Trax data feed contain?
The data feed contains the following fields:

(eg 1853)
artist : Describes the "style" of the backing
track (eg in the style of Christina Aguilera)
title : Song title (eg Beautiful)
